Packed up and bumped and shook our way to Rabbit Flat, which makes the claim of most remote petrol and food in Australia, with a brief stop for photo opportunity at the border and inspection of a dingo. To our delight rabbit flat was open so we fueled ourselves with coffee but filled up the car from the Gerry cans fuel being 2.30 a litre here. Bounced our way a bit further down the track to set up camp and try to get into the sync with NT time. We lost an hour and a half today. Set up camp on the rim of a road works quarry again having intermittent reception on one phone -if you are facing the right way with the wind at the right angle behind the right tree, courtesy of the local open cut mine. It set off 3 blasts every 20min round the clock but luckily it was far enough away not to be too disturbing.
Nothing we have with us in not embedded with dust no matter how you pack and how much you wash your toothbrush you still get crunchy bits when you clean your teeth. Had a really thorough wash using an immense amount of soap put on clean clothes and within 5 minutes you are coveted in dirt again. Morgie can no longer get a brush through her hair just plait the same 3 clumps of hair each day - she may end up with 3 dreddies.
Big fire again tonight much to the boys delight.
