Silent grove & Bell Gorge
Silent grove did not live up to it's name being jam packed with vans and tents though thankfully had a separate area for generators and no larger vans as there were two fairly serious water crossings to get in. This is a national park camping spot in the middle of king Leopoldo ranges which to our great delight had just had extensive work to install toilets warm showers and running water. The downside though was no swimming in the creek as that is where the water comes from. Bell gorge is just along the track has a spectacular waterfall with the final drop being about 40 m. We were all pretty shattered from the marathon morning walk so did not take on the slippery skirt across the top and down the side to the bottom of the gorge preferring to watch the setting sun change the colours of the gorge wall whilst we languished in the warmer upper pools before dinner.
